Shire of Northampton
1871 - 1971
To commemorate the centenary of local government in Northampton.
This Shire was originally named Mines Road Board on 24th January 1871, - One of the first local authorities in Western Australia.
Samples of lead and copper from mines in the District first discovered in 1848 at the Murchison River.
This memorial officially opened by Ern. E. Teakle, J.P. President.
