A plaque commemorates the declaration of the completion of the Sunbury Streetscape and Water Fountain in 1983.

Built in 1983, Sunbury’s iconic water fountain situated at the corner of O’Shanassy St and Brook St, was almost demolished to make way for a water park. However, after 589 people signed a petition against the move, the Hume Council opted for an upgrade instead. As well as giving the fountain a cosmetic overhaul, the water feature now includes a dazzling colour display to match the twinkling fairy lights of O’Shannasy Street.
This Is Sunbury, 28 April 2018.
