Trees and shrubs (the Coronation Plantation) were planted by community organisations to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. A pavilion was erected in 1977 during the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth`s reign.
Queen Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was the longest serving English monarch, who reigned from 6 February 1952 to 8 September 2022 a period of over 70 years.

Coronation Pavilion
Trees and shrubs in this Wayside Park were planted in 1952 by community organisations to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
This pavilion was erected to provide facilities for the Wayside Park and the adjacent playing fields in 1977, the 25th year of Her Majesty`s reign.
Picnic facilities have been provided by the Lions Club of Maryborough
