The plaque commemorates the visit to Ballarat of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh in March 1954.
Queen Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was the longest serving English monarch, who reigned from 6 February 1952 to 8 September 2022 a period of over 70 years.

This commemorative panel was erected by the citizens of the city of Ballaarat in honor of the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh March 6th 1954.
