Coronation Viewpoint was named to commemorate the coronation of King George VI in 1937 and a plaque was erected to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

This indicator was erected by the Council of the Municipality of Lane Cove in conjunction with local public organisations to commemorate the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Officially unveiled in 12th December, 1954 by His Worship the Mayor Ald. G. O. Venteman
