Elizabeth Grove was planted in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State. 

Lancelin Districts Community Association Inc., received funding of $12,000 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant an avenue of native trees at the town entrance, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will beautify the area and enhance community wellbeing.

Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.

I recently visited the beautiful town of Lancelin where I officially unveiled their sixty five new Weeping Peppermint trees planted along the entrance road to town, an avenue of trees now known as 'Elizabeth Grove'. Thank you to the Lancelin District Community Association Inc who applied for the funding under the Coalition's Queen's Jubilee Tree Planting Program and who, along with local contractors, did the work of preparing the site, planting and then watering the trees.
