Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth IIPrint Page
The trees commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and acknowledges her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
Cockburn Community Wildlife Corridor Inc., received funding of $9,180 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021 to 2024. The project planted native trees at Clontarf Hill and Manning Park, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will enhance the tree canopy and provide additional habitat for native fauna.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Please join us at Manning Park on Saturday November 12th at 10.30am for morning tea and a small ceremony to acknowledge mature Tuart trees planted with funding from the "Trees for the Queen's Jubilee" project.
