Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth IIPrint Page Print this page

The trees commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and acknowledges her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.

Hawker Park Primary School received funding of $4,100 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant a line of trees at Hawker Park Primary School, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will beautify the school and provide additional habitat for native wildlife.

Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.

On Tuesday we held a commemorative tree planting event to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We now have 7 new Jacaranda trees on the far end of the oval, each which have been named:
Kindy: Kambarang
Year 1: Beautiful Crown
Year 2: Queenie
Year 3: Jubilee
Year 4: BFT (Big Friendly Tree)
Year 5: TBA
Year 6/PP: Elizabeth II
