The trees commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and acknowledges her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State. 

Ocean Road Primary School received funding of $15,000 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant trees at the school and oval, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will beautify the area and enhance shade for students.

Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.

Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Tomorrow
Just a reminder volunteers would be greatly appreciated to help dig holes and plant trees on the school grounds tomorrow from 9am. If you are able to help out, please comment below. Thanks in advance. In honour of the Platinum Jubilee for Her Majesty, The Queen, the school accessed funds to plant trees to commemorate this milestone. This project received funding from the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program.

A commemorative event was held at the school yesterday to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty, The Queen. The school has planted a variety of trees throughout the school grounds in honour of the Jubilee. This project received funding from the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program.
