The trees commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and acknowledges her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
Natives WA Inc., received funding of $19,700 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant native trees, install a commemorative sign and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will enhance the tree canopy and provide habitat for native fauna.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Perth NRM
Perth NRM is fortunate to partner with native Plants WA and the City of Rockingham- Local Government on their successful Queens Jubilee Tree Planting Project. To commemorate the successful application, a tree-planting ceremony was held at Governor Reserve where 4 tuart seedlings were planted with City of Rockingham's Mayor Deb Hamblin. The project will see 4,000 trees planted at the reserve in June 2023.
