Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Print Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The project received funding of $3,150 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant fruit trees, install a commemorative sign and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will increase the tree canopy and create sustainable food sources.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Today we acknowledge the grant received by the Queen’s Jubilee Tree Planting programme to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and to honour her life’s achievements. With this @dcceew grant we have further developed our College orchard. The orchard provides hands-on experiences establishing and maintaining a small orchard, amongst other benefits such as awareness of health benefits of growing your own food, and to increase the tree canopy at Austins Ferry.
