Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
Trees were planted in August 2022 with an official ceremony held on the 7th October 2022.
The project received funding of $2,500 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant a grove of Quandong trees on a street corner, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will beautify the local environment and provide habitat for native fauna.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Another working bee today at Quandong Corner (intersection of Cutline Rd and Southshore) today. Progress obtained a Federal Govt. grant for the Queens Jubilee to plant more native quandongs (Wild Peach) in this area and tidy up the block. We will shortly be having a formal event there and unveil a commemorative plaque - with a free morning tea for everyone. Twenty new small trees planted and a full trailer load of boxthorns, rubbish and non-native succulents removed. Thanks to our helpers Dave and Dave.
