Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The project received funding of $2800 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant an avenue of trees, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will beautify the local environment and raise awareness of The Queen's Jubilee.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.

If you are golfing this weekend, check out the beginnings of the “Platinum Jubilee” grove planted with the help of a $2800 federal grant. Cooroy Golf Club worked with the experts at Noosa and District Landcare to choose the right trees for small native birds feeding and nesting needs.
Royal watchers might remember the Queen would bird-watch with the Duke of Edinburgh, whose interest in birds began on a royal Commonwealth visit while in the southern Pacific Ocean between New Zealand and Antarctica in 1956.
The Planting Trees for The Queen's Jubilee program creates a legacy of tree planting nationwide, increasing native bird habitat, while celebrating Her Majesty's Jubilee.
