Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The project received funding of $9,750 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant native saplings, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will attract native wildlife, create shade and enhance student’s wellbeing.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Yesterday’s official opening of our Queen’s Jubilee Copse Of Trees project with special guest Phillip Thompson MP. Phillip cut the ribbon with our 2023 school captains, Mia and Sonai, in front of our new sign. We planted 16 trees with colourful flowers, representing the Queen’s wardrobe choices, to extend our corridor of trees from Queen’s Gardens, our mango orchard and well-being garden, connecting with our new trees. This extends our commitment to biodiversity and creating habitats for birds, butterflies and insects on campus.
