Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Print Page Print this page

The garden was established, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.

The project received funding of $8,600 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant trees, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will enhance the habitat and increase awareness of The Queen’s Jubilee.

Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.

On Friday we were delighted to welcome MP Ted O'Brien, Federal Member for Fairfax, to our school to officially open our new garden to commemorate Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. This project received funding from the Australian Government's Planting Trees for The Queen's Jubilee Program. Huge thanks to our P&C Manager, Denise French for her efforts in securing the funding, and to Groundsman, Grant Stockton, for creating this beautiful space for our whole school to enjoy.
