Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The project received funding of $10,800 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant fruit and native trees, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will create sustainable food sources and encourage student participation.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Over the past 6 months our students, staff, P&C and community have conceived, planned and actualised a project which includes both a boomerang and serpent shaped garden which incorporates trees and shrubs native to our local area. These trees and shrubs have particular significance to the First Nations people of our local community and will provide an important learning opportunity for students. Our project also include an area which includes a host exotic fruit trees from a number of cultures represented in our school.
Lastly, our Queen’s Jubilee Tree planting project includes a number of garden beds with herbs and vegetables which will service our breakfast club tucker each Tuesday to Thursday morning. Keep an eye on channel 7 local news on Friday evening for a special story on our Queen’s Jubilee Tree Planting project. Big “shout out” to Mrs Cousen, Mrs Stephens and Mr McGuire who have been instrumental in the establishment of this project.
