Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page 
The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The project received funding of $14,000 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant native trees, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will enhance the habitat for the bee population and reduce urban heat effects.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Woy Woy Public School is hosting a commemorative event for the Queen's Jubilee tomorrow. The whole school will be taking part in planting over 450 native trees and shrubs across our new outdoor learning space on the oval. This would not be possible without the assistance of the Tree Planting for the Queen's Jubilee grant that we obtained earlier this year. We will be also hosting a formal assembly at 2.10pm, followed by a complimentary BBQ. Who doesn't like a free sausage sizzle! We hope to see you there!
