Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The project received funding of $9,900 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant trees, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will enhance community well-being and provide additional habitat for native fauna.
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
Springfield Residents Association will hold a special tree-planting ceremony at Bushlands Reserve on Sunday, November 20. The small community group has had a long- term involvement with Bushlands Reserve at Springfield and was the instigator of the park which was created more than 20 years ago.
Over the years, much-needed essentials have been added to the park thanks to community grants and working in partnership with Central Coast Council.
The Association has now received a grant from the Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee Program and the November 20 event will honour the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and commemorate her passing.
Plant a Tree For The Queen’s Jubilee will be held at 10am, with two clumps of three trees each to be planted. A sausage sizzle and cold drinks will be available, along with children’s activities and music.
This project will be jointly funded by Springfield Residents Association and the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for the Queens Jubilee Program.
