Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum JubileePrint Page

The trees were planted, and a commemorative plaque unveiled, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee and acknowledge her 70 years of service as Australia`s Head of State.
The Ryde City Council received funding of $20,000 from the Queen`s Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting Program which will run from 2021-2024. The project will plant native trees, install a commemorative plaque and hold an event in honour of The Queen’s Jubilee. This will increase local biodiversity and promote community engagement
Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female monarch in history.
On behalf of the Mayor, Jordan Lane and the City of Ryde we invite you to attend the commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee
On 6 February 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the Commonwealth.
To commemorate this exceptional milestone, please join us for the reveal of the new tree’s planted and a light morning tea in honour of the Queen’s reign from 1952 to 2022.
Parking will be available along Macintosh St and Crowley Cres or alternatively at the Meadowbank Park Parking via Adelaide Street.
This project has received funding from the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program.
