The hoop pine was planted to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II`s reign.
The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II was a multinational celebration throughout 2012, that marked the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952.
Queen Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was the longest serving English monarch, who reigned from 6 February 1952 to 8 September 2022 a period of over 70 years.

This hoop pine (Araucaria cunninghamii) was planted by The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Graham Quirk and the Lady Mayoress Mrs Anne Quirk and Official Secretary Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM (Ret`d), representing the Governor of Queensland Her Excellency Ms Penelope Wensley AC
