The plaque commemorates one of Australia’s greatest engineering feats which was celebrated in October 2001, when the first Trans-Australian railway journey was replicated as part of the Centenary of Federation celebrations.

From 22nd to 25th October a Centenary of Federation Indian Pacific train crosses the country, stopping along the way to visit significant historical and cultural sites.
