The Hon Frank Sartor MP,
Minister for Planning, Minister for
Redfern Waterloo and Minister for the
Arts launched this replica flagstaff on
Saturday 7 June 2008 to mark the 150th
Anniversary of Sydney Observatory.
This flagstaff is dedicated to the memory of Bruce
Reid [1922 - 2005] who had a
lifelong passion and enthusiasm for
maritime history. The restoration of this
signal mast was made possible through
the generous support of the
Bruce and Joy Reid
Foundation.
