Bushfire Memorial Tree PlaquePrint Page 
The tree was planted to commemorate those who died in the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009.
The Bunyip ridge fires destroyed 31 homes, including that of Cardinia Shire resident Fred Wailes, and burned through 26,200 hectares by the time they were contained early in March 2009.
Note : As at 20-April-2019 this tree is now dead and only the plaque remains.
