Memorial erected in memory of three crew members of Central Queensland Helicopter service who were killed in 2003.

In October 2003, Intensive Care Paramedic Craig Liddington, helicopter pilot Andrew Carpenter and crewman Stewart Eva were killed when a Central Queensland Helicopter Service rescue chopper crashed into the ocean off Mackay. The incident prompted an Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) investigation and led to a number of procedural changes to enhance the safety of the State’s rescue helicopter network.
