The garden and stone commemorate four people who died tragically in December 1990 while flying a search and rescue mission.
On 22nd December, 1990, a crew on a Search & Rescue mission from Camden Airport were dispatched to locate a missing training aircraft. The aeroplane – a Cessna 210 – suffered a catastrophic engine failure and crashed in the Burrogorang Valley. There were only two survivors from the six on board.
