The monument commemorates the early Mission pioneers, August Landura, Epaphrus Entamintama and Robert Paljingka who made the first mission visit trip in July and August 1923, and the evangelists who served the Western Desert people.

Pastor F. W. Albreacht M. B. E., Titus Rengkaraka, and Martin, who travelled the same area and camped here in October, 1930.
