The plaque commemorates 150 years of worship since foundation stone for St Clement’s was laid on the 27th July 1858.  The Church was not opened for worship until 1867.

The church is named after Saint Clement, who was the third Bishop of Rome.  The church was designed by James William Cole on land donated by William Bartley.
