Commemorating the silver jubilee of the Carpentaria Aerial Mission which commenced in 1966 as an outreach ministry to the people of Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Country by the Revd. Tony Hall-Matthews (later Bishop of Carpentaria).
The first service was held in St Michael`s and All angels Church, Georgetown.
The aircraft was named Gilbert White after the first Bishop of Carpentaria.
