The plaque commemorates the visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Geoffrey Francis Fisher who preached in the church in November, 1950.

The Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr. Fisher) will conduct a short service at St. Andrew's Church of England, Lismore, from 2 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. today. This is the first occasion on which an Archbishop of Canterbury has visited Australia. Parishioners from St James Church, Kyogle, holding tickets for admission to the service are requested to be in their seats 1.40 p.m.
