The plaque commemorates the centenary of the Hawthorn West School.

Hawthorn West Central school will celebrate its Centenary tomorrow. To celebrate the occasion, students will be given a special medal and free ice cream. On Saturday there will be a school reunion, at which old students and friends will attend.  Among those expected to attend will be the Director of Education (Mr. A. Ramsay), the mayor of Hawthorn (Cr. Swan) , Mr. Keon, M.P., and Mr. Murphy, M.L.A.  Next week there will a children's ball in Hawthorn town hall. A commemoration plaque will be unveiled tomorrow by Mr. Ramsay.
