Roll of RenownPrint Page
The monument commemorates the artists of country music.
Radio 2TM`s Bal Marketing, the moving force behind the Country Music Festival in Tamworth, established the Roll of Renown to commemorate Australia`s country musicians. Each year a separate artist or group is recorded on one of the collection of large granite rocks which make up the monument.
In September 2000, Radio 2TM, acknowledging the Roll of Renown’s significance to Australian country music, allowed Tamworth City Council to re-locate the monument to its present site at Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre (TREC)
