Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Angourie
is one of the unique places in the world, where
surfers have travelled from near and far just to experience
the quality of the wave and the beauty of the natural enviroment that
should never be lost.
Angourie Surfing Reserve
Angourie, traditional country of the Yaegl people who lived in harmony with the landscape, is home to ospreys and the playground of dolphins, turtles, whales and the many creatures of the sea.
National Surfing Reserves recognise the sites of cultural and historical significance in Australian surfing. They acknowledge the surfing way of life and link past, present and future generations with our oceans, waves and beaches.
Generations of surfers coming to Angourie since the 1950`s, have ensured that this beautiful place is integral to the environmental, spiritual and cultural heritage of Australian surfing.
