Stirling Oval

This plaque commemorates the gifting of this property by J & A G Johnston Ltd, Oakbank to the former District Council of Stirling * on 13 January 1936, as part of the State`s Centenary celebration.

The property was donated for the benefit of the inhabitants of the township and District of Stirling West and its visitors, to be use permanently as a public recreation ground for all.

( * known as Adelaide Hills Council since the 1997 council amalgamation )
