This plaque is to commemorate the centenary of the first Bush Nursing facility in Victoria.  

The Beech Forest Centre was opened on Tuesday 14th March 1911 by Lady Dudley who was instrumental in the development of Bush Nursing across Victoria.

From 1911 - 2011 there have been 156 Bush Nursing Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Centres.

Currently those still operating are :

Hospitals at Ballan, Cobden, Euroa, Heyfield, Nagambie, Neerim & Yackandandah.
Centres at Balmoral, Buchan, Cann RIver, Dargom Dartmoor, Dingee, Elmhurst, Ensay, Gelantipy, Harrow, Lake Bolace, Lockington, Swifts Creek, Walwa & Woomelang.
