Dunlop Park Memorial Pool : 27-05-2014

The Dunlop Park Memorial Pool was erected in memory of the fallen of World War Two.
The Wacol- Chelmer District War Memorial Swimming Pool Assocation was formed at a meeting in February 1954 with the aim of raising £10,000 for the construction of the pool. The target was raised in 1960 and the pool was opened by the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Clem Jones on the 22nd December 1961. On the 26th February 1964, the war memorial plaque was unveiled in front of a crowd of 500 people.
