Wilkawatt Roll of HonourPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War Two. It contains photographs of those who died in service or were killed in action.
In an impressive ceremony at Wilkawatt just recently the district honour roll was unveiled. Cr. A. G. Piggott (Chairman Lameroo District Council) addressed the gathering and paid tribute to the men who had served their King and Country in World War II and particularly those men who had made the supreme sacrifice. His remarks supported by Mr. L. Whalan (President Lameroo Branch of RSL). The State President of the RSL, Mr. Blackburn, VC, unveiled the roll after speaking in glowing terms of the deeds of the men and women in the services. Mr. Roy Koch was chairman. For the number of names on the honour roll a high percent age of men died on active service.
