Lameroo Roll of HonourPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those from Lameroo who served in World War Two.
In the Lameroo Institute on Thursday, November 11 (Armistice Day) 2.30 p.m. the names of men and women who served in World War 11 will be commem orated by the unveiling of honour roll. The roll, an impressive one, standing seven or eight feet high and approximately six feet wide, is a fitting memorial to those men and women who answered their country’s call in time of need. It is expected that a large gathering will attend the ceremony. Speakers will include the Council Chairman, Cr. A. G. Piggott, local RSL President, Mr. L. Whalan, and RSL State Councillor, Mr. A. G. Sharrad. The roll will be unveiled by Mrs. E. J. Charles. Several of her sons served with the Forces in the 1939-45 war.
