Tooperang Roll of HonourPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those from the district who served in World War Two.
On Saturday last a party of concert artists journeyed to Tooperang to give a programme for their welcome home to Servicemen in the local schoolroom. The room was festooned with flags and flowers, and a large crowd was assembled to do honor to their local lads, who had returned home again after seeing service in the various theatres of war. Mr. T. Robinson was in the chair, and had charge of the proceedings, the main item of which was the unveiling of a very fine Honor Roll, containing the names of the men who had enlisted from Tooperang.
The unveiling ceremony was performed by the local Member of Parliament (Mr. H. C. Dunn), and in his remarks Mr. Dunn stated how honored he felt in being asked to perform this deed, recalling as he did, a similar ceremony in this same room when an Honor Roll to men of the 1914-18 war was unveiled.
