Pilton District Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those Pilton and District who served in World War Two.
Mr George Harrington, president of the western district council of the R.S.S.A.I.L.A., accompanied by Mrs. Harrington, will visit Pilton tomorrow to unveil an honour board at the official of the extensions of the Soldiers' Memorial. During the war £1,000 was won by the Pilton branch in an A.C.F. competition and this money was allotted to improve the Soldiers' Hall which was erected free of debt following the 1914-1918 campaign. The Pilton Women's Committee, of which Mrs. C. Cooke, of Riversleigh, Upper Pilton, is president, Essie Sprott honorary secretary and Mrs. F. Moar honorary treasurer, will be in charge of the catering at the function.
