Elizabeth Town Honour RollPrint Page
The wooden honour roll commemorates those from Elizabeth Town who served in World War Two. This honour roll was originally mounted in the Elizabeth Town Hall which became a private property. The owner donated the roll to the Deloraine Ex-Service Club.
On Friday evening last , a large crowd attended a ball in the Elizabeth Town hall, where the honor roll was unveiled. The Warden congratulated the Elizabeth Town Patriotic Committee on its work during the war years, and asked Mrs. A. Gleeson who has two sons' names and that of a daughter on the honor roll to unveil it.
Advocate (Burnie), 29th November 1946.
Note : the “Tasmanian War Memorials Data Base” , compiled by Fred Thornett which is located at the State Library of Tasmania, contains a comprehensive listing of the names on this honour roll.
