The marble honour roll commemorates those who served in World War Two.
To enable those who wished to attend the State service in the metropolitan area the Mundijong-Jarrahdale sub branch of the R.S.L. conducted its service in the Mundijong Hall, on Sunday 24th. The service was well attended by residents of Serpentine, Mundijong and Jarrahdale. Mr. A. Staer conducted the service while Mrs. Keirard kindly played the music. Mr. W. Glover sounded the bugle calls for the first time in this sub branch.
Mrs E. King rendered Land of Hope and Glory whilst at the conclusion of the president's short address, Mr. D. G. Watkins, chairman of the Road Board, unveiled a tablet in commemoration of those who paid the supreme sacrifice from the Mundijong area. Mr. Watkins in his address expressed the hope that tablets would be unveiled at both Serpentine and Jarrahdale before the passage of many more months.
