The Science Block commemorates 700 former students of Guildford Grammar School who served in World War Two and the 74 who are known to have died.
A £36,000 war memorial hall and science block is to be built at the Guildford Grammar School. Tenders are called today by the Old Guildfordians' Association for the erection of the first section of the building. The building was designed by Messrs. Oldham, Boas, Ednie-Brown and Partners. Work will start in the near future on the first section which will include the memorial hall, and a chemistry laboratory and a physics laboratory. This section will cost between £18,000 and £19,000.
