Malta G. C.
During the Second World War of 1939 - 45, Malta was an important naval base which withstood the might of the Axis Powers, withstanding saturation bombing raids.
The gallantry of the civilian population who showed the greatest courage, herosim and devotion was such, that King George VI commanded on the 15th April 1942, the award of the George Cross to this fortress island.
This memorial is dedicated to their memory by their descendants now living in South Australia.
