Jerusalem Roll of HonourPrint Page

The wooden honour roll commemorates those who served in World War Two. It originally contained 36 names with additional names being added at a later date.
Sunday evening, when I went across to Jerusalem to mingle with the people, I was wonderfully pleased to see how they had added to the wall a splendid honor roll. From my observation I could see it was a nice piece of work, and a credit to those who were responsible for it. As I stood back and read the names, I counted 36 on the board, who were in the list of the various forces. I saw they were drawn from the well known families of the district, and for a small place like Jerusalem I thought it was a most valuable contribution to the Cause of Liberty.
It did not seem long since we saw these people growing up as thriving young boys and girls, but the years had spurred them along, and many of the homes were now showing by their absence that they were somewhere doing their bit, and we hope the day is not far distant when re-unions will again take place, and family life restored to the joy of all those concerned.
