Nunjikompita Roll of HonourPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War Two.
A gratifying attendance of people from local and surrounding districts witnessed the unveiling of the Nunjikompita roll of honour on Sunday. The service was conducted by the Rev. Pengilly and the roll was unveiled by Mrs. J. C. May whose son, W.O. Don May, was the only one in the district to pay the supreme sacrifice. His photo was at the side of the roll. The speakers were Mr. T. Lovegrove, of the Wirrulla R.S.L., and Rev. Pengilly, who gave a stirring address. A hymn was nicely rendered by Mrs. Woods, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. H. Dunn. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies, after the unveiling.
