Yamba Public School War MemorialPrint Page
The marble plaque commemorates five men from Yamba who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two.
The students of the Yamba Public School using their own initiaive raised the money for the honour roll. It was unveiled at the old Yamba Public School, and when the new school was opened, the honour roll was given to the museum.
Miss Dulcie Carr, secretary of Yamba Public School Children's Memorial Fund has received word from Sir Earle Page that he will be in attendance at the Public School Empire Day Celebrations on Friday. Sir Earle will unveil the school's memorial plaque in honour of five boys who gave their life in World War II. The memorial which consists of a white marble slab 12 x 10 set in a darker ground marble frame, will be hung on the school wall.
