Dear Monument Australia visitors, we are a self-funded, non-profit organisation, dedicated to recording monuments throughout Australia. Over time the costs of maintaining this website have risen substantially (in fact they are probably larger than those of many companies who exist for profit). In the past we have borne all the costs associated with maintaining the website but we are now having difficulties in paying the monthly expenses.
If Monument Australia is useful to you, please make a donation to keep this historical and educational resource available. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Newrybar, Knockrow & Brooklet Honour RollPrint Page

The wooden honour roll commemorates those Newrybar, Knockrow and Brooklet who served in World War Two.
An honour roll bearing the names of men and women in the Newrybar, Knockrow and Brooklet areas who served in the fighting forces of World War II was unveiled and dedicated at Newrybar School of Arts. Despite adverse weather, a large crowd was present. Mr. W. S. Boorman was chairman. The President of Newrybar R.S.L. (Mr. E. Dickson), assisted by the Vice-President (Mr. P. James), unveiled the roll. Rev. C. Saunders performed the dedication ceremony.
On behalf of the sub-branch, the President of Tintenbar Shire (Cr. E. C. Payne) presented framed photographs of three servicemen who lost their lives to their next-of-kin. Solos were given by Mrs K. Leeson., Mr. V. Snow, and Mr. A. Kibblewhite. Mr. J. Foster sounded "The Last Post" and "Reveille."
