Kokoda Memorial ParkPrint Page Print this page

The park commemorates those who served on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. More than 600 Australian soldiers lost their lives on what became known as one of the most heroic battlefields of World War Two.

The park features a memorial pathway leading to a monument. The path is a symbolic representation of the Kokoda Track.  The battle sites, rest points, and areas that supplied goods to the Australian troops have been symbolically marked at the park with stone insets and bronze

plaques.

Note: The song Kokoda written and performed by Don Cowling is available to view on https://vimeo.com/357546698
