Yarragundry Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War Two.
At the Yarragundry Hall on Friday night a banquet was tendered to returned personnel, and was attended by more than 200 people. The chairman was Mr. Alex Macrae. Mr. E. Smith called the names of district service personnel. The gathering then sang, "For They are Jolly Good Fellows." Mr. John Clough responded on behalf of the returned personnel, and spoke of the kindness of the Yarragundry district people to them during the war. He also thanked them for the honor roll. The chairman asked Cr. McCormick to unveil the honor roll. Cr. McCormick congratulated Yarragundry on their venture, and said that the honor roll would be there for all time to pay honor to those whose names were on it. The gathering then sang the National Anthem.
