The brass honour roll commemorates those from Wirrinya and District who served in World War Two.
On Sunday, 25th April, Wirrinya district proudly unveiled its honor roll for the men and women who participated in the last World War. The ceremony was conducted by Mr. C. T. Russell who has been chairman of many organisations connected with Wirrinya's social life for many years. Among the speakers present were representatives of various bodies from Forbes, including the Mayor and Mayoress, Dr. Delohory, Mr. Hastings, Jemalong Shire President, and others. Mr. McNally recited "The Fallen" during the speeches, and at the conclusion of the actual unveiling by Mrs. C. Dean, whose son paid the supreme sacrifice. Members of the forces marched on to the stage to form a guard at the rear of the stage, and the members of the V.D.C. formed a guard at the foot.
